I've been looking on Ebay and i'm interested in getting into mixing some music...so far I know NOTHING about it at all. For the link I posted above, is there a way I could get a Usb Turntable that hooks up to That so i can mix my own tunes together using that mixer? Like so...

Please tell me all you know, i'd truly appreciate it. 10 points for best answer. Thankss!
get neither of those. ok here's some dj'ing 101. keep in mind that dj'ing can be very expensive and may not be for everyone. Some kids just want to do it cause they want to look cool in front of everyone and end up spending a fortune of money and then they are really crappy or they lose interest in it because they cant figure how to use the stuff or for whatever reason. Now im not saying that that's what you are like, maybe you are, maybe you are not but its just a little heads up. i really recommend gaining plenty of knowledge about dj'ing, because as you said, you know nothing, but whatever you do please dont just dive into it all at once, it will take you time but it could potentially save you tons of money if you find out beforehand that dj'ing is not for you. First research on the basic functions of a mixer by looking on the web or going to your local dj store and ask. So, familiarize yourself with dj'ing first. Oh and your really have to have a liking for it, you must be honest with yourself and ask yourself "am i doing this to look cool, or do i really enjoy mixing music" if you do enjoy mixing music then move to the next step, getting your equipment. So by now you've probably said "screw your advice im buying equipment anyways" or "yeah ill get to know the ins and outs first then buy equipment", but with either answer you are going to want equipment anyways. There are three general types. Midi Controllers, Cd Players, and good ol' turntables. Midi controllers will control your dj software that you have on your computer, Usually your software will include two decks or more, side A and side B. You will upload music from your computer onto the software, then you load a song onto side A and then another on side B except the song on side B will be silent since you will have the crossfader slid all the way to the left where side A is so that you only hear side A you will be able to monitor side B through your headphones. Once the song is coming to an end or whenever you want to switch songs you will match the beats of the songs by putting both at the same tempo using the pitch fader and the using the crossfader to cross from side A to side B in a hopefully smooth and seamless manner( there is a lot more to it but these are just the very basics). now, the purpose of the Midi Controller is that since without the controller you would be left to use your mouse which limits you to doing one thing at a time and i can assure you it wont be a smooth ride and it looks like you are checking your facebook or myspace or email or whatever, the controller will give you the freedom to use both hands to manipulate your dj software rather than your mouse. A good midi controller for the beginner is the Numark Omni Control, it has all you need, except a computer and headphones, it even comes with good software to get started with and once you get the hang of it i recommend upgrading it to the full pro version for about a $100 US dollars. .Oh, and the omni control connects to your computer via USB. Next there are CD players like the Denon s-1200 or the Pioneer Cdj-1000 but it seems to me that you like the idea of using equipment via USB so i wont go on blabberin about cd players or turntables. So yeah why don't you go on and check out the Omni Control, its the cheapest thing and greatest deal out there while maintaining rather good quality and under a trusted brand name not some brand you've never heard of, oh, other good brands out there for future reference are, Stanton, Vestax, Technics, Pioneer, Denon, Rane, and M-audio. Try to stay away from other brands like Behringer, American Audio, Hercules, and Cortex these tend to be on the lower end of quality or are just not as good as the known brands. Sorry for the lengthy answer, i can get carried away sometimes heheh : P . Well i hope this helps a bit.
Thanks for visiting!
