What is the best Usb Mic condenser to use for recording?
Hmmmm this is a tricky question...merely because without knowing WHAT and HOW you plan on recording with this microphone...does it enable one to give you a solid answer.
If you plan on recording the human voice..weather speaking or singing...you wont want to stop at just a microphone. Make sure you have some sort of audio editing software as well...but as far as the microphone goes. I wouldn't worry about a Condenser Mic...you should be just fine with a Dynamic Mic...if you plan on spending the money for a condenser mic then you should also spend the dough for a 4 channel Mixing Board and connect that to your PC.
USB mics are generally NOT going to give you the frequency response of a standard mic with an XLR connection. I use a Heil PR40 for my voice overs and such. Its a dynamic mic...pretty cost effective to boot!
Buy Dynamic with an XLR connection...then get some sort of mixer to "condition" the signal before transferring to a USB connection....
But that's just me.

What mic should i buy?
I'm trying to set up a very basic Home Studio. I have a mixer with a usb output, which has input for 4 xlr mics with Phantom Power. I also have a cheap Dynamic Mic (about €50).
I mostly just want to record vocals and guitar.
Just wondering if you'd recommend another microphone to use (budget: under €150) or any other recording equipment that might come in handy.

i would look into buying a Shure Mic. those are really good in my expeirence. there are different costs for them and are excellent for vocals. remember you get what you pay for, so if you spend cheap you will get cheap results when it come to this type of equipment. i know! been there done that!!

Does anyone know where to get cordless sing star mics? also would europe mics work on my american PS3?
I have desperately searching for wireless sing star microphones and would love to purchase a set. Though it looks like they were only released in Europe. Does anyone know if there were released in the united states, and if not would the europe versions work on my american PS3?
I'm also in the process of looking for the Wireless Mics for Singstar, and i have found that they have not been released in north america for an unknown reason. The best i've been able to find is them on the HMV.com (UK site), but the reason I haven't ordered them yet, is they are listed as 34.99 uk pounds, which is worth double US dollar, so they would be between 60$ and 70$ us. I have the wired one already and plan to stick with them till they are released in north america.

which wire do i cut in a mic cable to get distortion? ?
i was told that if you opened up a mic cable and cut one of the cables inside you could get a really cool distortion on your mic. but i just fucked up a cable from not know which to cut, does anyone know about this who might be able to give me some pointers?
You were told wrong. Go back to that person and see whether he'll buy you a new mic.

What kind of microphone is best for singers?
I'm talking about live performances. Between a Wireless Handheld mic & and Headworn Mic. I was watching lots of k & jpop music videos, & it got me wondering why they don't always use the head worn mics. Is it because of lack of control? or something else? or is the Handheld Mic just a prop?
Most people who use head-set mics are those that need their hands for something else, and need to move around ALOT; example: dancers who sing while dancing. Can't think of any others.
Other than that, almost everyone I've seen use handheld mics either in their hands, or if their hands are busy then on a stand. Control is obviously the most important benefit. You can move away when you yell, to avoid distortion or sudden unpleasantly loud levels; can't do that on Headset Mic. On the latter, someone could lower the volume for you while you yell, but if you do yell, it'll still distort!
And for people whose hands are really free (like singers who only sing and don't play the guitar, for instance), yes the mic and its stand work as a great prop and help to add charachter to their performance. When they need their hands for any actions or whatever else, they can simply clip the mic on the stand and use it the way it's meant to!
So go for a wireless Hand Held mic. More versatile at the end of the day.
