How is the JVC Mini DV Pro HD 63 minute compared to the Sony Mini DV HD 63 minute DVM63HD HDV?
I'm talking about MiniDV tapes
Basically the big difference is the size of the particles embedded on the tape itself, and the density of them. Also what lubrication compound used. If you have been using Sony tapes so far, keep using them. The heads on your camera are now coated with that kind of lube, and I have read more than a few times mixing the different manufactures blends can damage the heads. Having said all of that, I use the best, and of course the most expensive tape Sony makes.
Here is their sales pitch...
The New PHDVM63DM has all the advances that you have come to expect from Sony DigitalMASTER™:
Dual Layer of active magnetic material to produce a tape with fewer errors and less dropouts than Mini-DV tape.
30% more Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating for a more durable tape
But the PHDVM63DM has been improved especially for the demand of the new HDV recording technology:
A new Advanced Metal Evaporated II (AME-II) technology that uses a greater packing density of magnetic grains for higher output and lower noise. This results in 95% fewer errors and 60% less dropouts compared with Mini-DV tape.
An enforced DLC layer for increased durability with improved headwear and still frame characteristics.
A newly developed lubricant system to reduce friction for optimum stability under a wide range of operating conditions.
Something to consider: Errors and dropouts are hazards that appear visually as intermittent blocks that can easily ruin any project. The effects of these hazards are amplified in HDV: Because HDV records in such high density, dropouts and errors affect more frames which could potentially lead to a greater disaster than what would occur with standard definition formats.
The result, the highest quality tape made even better! And just as with the predecessors to the PHDM63DM, this tape is Sony’s best performing media for use in all Mini-DV, DVCAM & HDV applications.

How big of a Pro Audio amp do I need?
I am looking at 2 speakers that are 8ohm and 400w peak/200w rms. Is a 2500w amp too big?
I would have to say yes as rms is continuous where you rarely hit peak. 8 ohms resistance plus 800 watts peak needs no more than 1000 watt amp.

how do i set up a ps3 mad catz nfl wireless remote?
i just got a ps3 mad catz nfl remote. and i am not sure how to set it up. i left the box at a friends house and do not have any instructions. i am not sure if you need a adapter for it. there is no usb connection and it takes batteries and is not rechargable. it is a ps3 remote. you can find them on the internet if you google them. please help if you can. thx!
Hey bro! All wireless PS3 controllers must be connected to the PS3, via a Usb Cable. This "mates" the controller with that specific PS3. I hope this helps
