How do you get Best Buy to make good on that "extended warranty"?
I bought a $1200 Aquos LCD and they talked me into buying the $200 extended warranty. I am glad I bought the warranty because Sharp only as a one-year, and it is now 18 months out of purchase...and the screen is going bad. Best Buy is attempting to fix it for the second time. How do I get them to just make good on the replacement?
You bought a Product Service Plan not a Product Replacement Plan. Best Buy's policy states that if they have to repair your product 3 times for the same exact problem then on the 4th time they will replace your product. Hopefully this was explained to you correctly at the time of sale. You can also read this on the pamphlet they gave you.

How much watts would a laser beam from Mars have to be, in order to be detectable from Earth?
A typical laser pointer has a 5 milliwatt output. The most powerful laser weapon developed has a 100 kilowatt output.
Detectable by the best telescope in the world or in Earth orbit.
What's the minimum energy output a laser would have to be in order to be detected from Mars?
"Detectable" is a funny thing. If a 1 watt laser (for example) could not be detected with 1 hour of staring, it might be detectable with 10 hours. We can already detect signals carried by just a few 100 photons per second (Lunar Laser Ranging). At the typical distance to Mars, a laser there would have to send about 2.6 x 10^9 photons per second. That's only about 30 nanowatts.
On the other hand, at 20 nanowatts, the information rate would be less than 1 bit per second. The noise from the vibration of the laser (from winds and Mars quakes) would blur the signal so much, the laser would not be detectable any more. Better go up to 20 microwatts, and get about 30 bits per second. Still very slow.
When we bounced radar signals from Earth to Mars and back, we had to stare at Mars for about 30 minutes to detect the return signal.

How do I connect IPOD to 4 speaker banana socket plate on wall?
I have a banana socket plate on my wall that connects to four different ceiling speakers via four pairs of black/red sockets. So far, I can only figure out how to connect to one set of sockets. But how do I connect the IPOD to all four sets to achieve Surround Sound effect?
You can't.
The iPod will need to be connected to an amplifier in order to boost the signal enough to drive speakers. You would connect the iPod to the amplifier with a 3.5mm to Rca Cable. Then you would connect the Amplifier Speaker output terminals to your banana sockets using Speaker Cables. If you want to use all the speakers your amp would need to have four pairs of speaker outputs.

How much do you typically spend for a gift for your child to take to a birthday party?
Is the amount spend dependent on the child's age? Where the party is? I mean do you spend more if the child is going to Laser Dome vs. a home party? And would the amount change if your child does not have parties of his own where he would get a return present from this child?

Age is the most important factor. You can get a decent $15 present for a 6 year old but I doubt you could find anything decent for that amount for a 10 year old. You want your child to be proud of the gift he brought to the party. Usually it's best to let them pick out the gift, with your guidance of course. They're probably the same age so something your child would like should be a hit with his friend.
No it doesn't matter where the party is given or if you give parties of your own. A gift should be given without expectation of compensation when your own birthday roles around and that's a good lesson to teach your child now. They're never too young to learn the joy of giving.
